[1] AI context#

rivt is a Python library and language that takes Python and text strings as input. This makes rivt a natural fit for main AI models and interfaces.

Using AI with rivt is in an early stage of development. AI is built on a few large foundational models with a large number of UIs, IDEs and agents that provide interfaces to the models. In order to put rivt in this current context, a brief summary of the models and tools is provided here .

rivt was, and continues to be, developed in the VSCode IDE which is integrated with Microsoft Copilot. Copilot is an AI coding assistant powered by the OpenAI foundational model. The development process has exposed Copilot to rivt and it is able to make editing and content suggestions as rivt files are written.

[2] AI agents#

Effective methods for using AI to write and edit rivt files is currently being explored. AI agents that generate rivt files for specific project requirements are planned for release, as a software service, in the latter part of 2026.
